Description:
A great stage monitor needs to cut through the stage mix without muddying up the rest of the audio real estate. It needs to be smooth with regard to input. If you are singing a dynamic passage you want the monitor to track you without any frequencies being triggered and feeding back. You can use EQ to remove spikes in frequencies and boost what you're missing. Then you end up pulling out parts of the sound you like and creating nodes around what you’re trying to accentuate. Ideally the woofer, compression driver, crossover, horn and cabinet should be chosen to get the response flay with as little EQ as possible. The RS112M/FOH accomplishes this. The RS112M/FOH was designed to replace our JBL SRX712Ms. As a vocalist my favorite monitor was the JBL SRX 712M. It was a brilliant design: light, smooth, huge power handling and required very little EQ. I swore I wouldn’t sell mine until they could be replaced with something I felt was superior. The JBLs weighed 33lbs, sensitivity 96db, 70-20kHz response and a maximum SPL of 131db. The RS112m/FOH is over 12 lbs lighter, 4 db higher sensitivity, and less than half the price. I sold my JBLs.
