Type: Bass Cabinet

Description:

https://fb.watch/dHi4G9hpv6/The new RS410VT was released in March of 2015 after the strong performance demonstrated by it's  "big brother" the RS810T.  It has performed wonderfully in venues small to large.   Ease of transport, small footprint, huge power handling and strong voice make it a go-to  for the player that requires a cab that can cut every gig and fit in the backseat of a sedan.  The vertical alignment allows the cabinet to fit on a tight stage, and its height allows it to shine on a shallow stage where a traditional cab would be blowing by your knees.  It is perfectly balanced with a side handle, top handle and integrated tilt back wheels.  With an   8 ohm impedance it allows cabinets to be paired for the ultimate portable 810 rig.  It is also available in 4 ohms.  Like its big brother, it shines at low volumes as well.  Unlike other cabinets that only bloom when cranked, the RS410VT stays even, tight and warm at all levels.  The vertically aligned cabinet shares the ability to morph with subtle eq changes, making it a tweaker's dream.  Right out of the box it satisfies, and doesn't require any change from venue to venue.  To put it simply: this cabinet kills.  The first time Toff, my bass player, took one out, he kept turning around and looking at it.  After the gig I asked if he liked it.  In true Toff fashion he said, " Oh yes, very much.  I just can't believe all that was coming from that cabinet."  He stated that it was easy to get his tone, and realized quickly there was so much more to it.

From Ben Soprenzetti August 6, 2020

Now that I've had my RS410VT cabinet for several weeks, I feel like I am finally able to comment on it in a fair and impartial way. The cabinet has proven to be fantastic for my gigging needs. It is loud, punchy and articulate. I have been primarily playing my Wal Mk 3 fretless five-string and driving the cabinet with a Jule Monique Tardis 700, but I also have an assortment of vintage Fenders and boutique active basses that I have used with the cabinet. The RS410VT's low end is tight and articulate: there is no stage boom at all, even on stages that have historically proven to be nightmares. My sound guy loves it and immediately noticed the difference during our sound check. Each note comes out cleanly and percussively: even ghost notes. You literally hear every ghost note and even better, you "feel" it as it punches out of the cabinet. The off-axis response is among the best that I've ever heard from a bass cabinet, and it rivals that of my Greenboy 15/6/1. The RS410VT is remarkably light considering it has 4 ten inch speakers in it, and is reasonably portable. It fits in the back seat of my sedan.

A real advantage is that it takes up practically no real estate on tight stages, and its height makes it extremely easy to hear myself on stage without having to blow out my stage mates or upset the sound guy. Also, this cabinet can get LOUD. Like crazy loud, and it really sings when it is pushed.

The highs are clean and well integrated; very different from the glassy and sometimes brittle high end that can be found in many popular tweeter-loaded 4x10 cabinets. The mids are clear and perfect. My fretless basses really speak through the RS410VT. Those of you that are used to a traditional, scooped 410 cabinet will be shocked to hear just how much sonic content you are missing.

The cabinet doesn't go as deep as my Greenboy 15/6/1 (what really does?), which has a much bigger footprint and is designed to stay articulate and authoritative all the way down to low F#, but in its defense, the RS410VT isn't designed to do that; instead, it is designed to be tight, punchy, and even-sounding throughout its range, and it does that marvelously.

So, in summary, RS410VT does not sound like a traditional 410 cabinet: it has no pronounced low-mid bump (thus, no boom), no scooped out upper mids, and no brittle/glassy high end; instead; it is tight and even-sounding throughout your bass' sonic spectrum. Your bass will sound like your bass. All of my basses sound excellent through the RS410VT. I am an aggressive fingerstyle player. I like to really dig in, and when I do the RS410VT responds beautifully. The harder I dig in, the more percussive it gets. I tend to not use much EQ, but the Revsound cabinet takes EQ very well, so people can sculpt their sound to whatever suits their preferences. The bottom line is that I love this cabinet, and I strongly recommend it. Two thumbs WAY UP for David! This cabinet is a total winner and provides a refreshing alternative to those of us that want something different in a 4x10 cabinet.

Excerpt from Bass Gear Magazine Issue #17 David speaking about things to come at Revsound   http://epublish.panaprint.com/publication/?i=278841&p=50

“I’m really excited about the new vertically aligned Revsound line.  They have performed exceptionally well.  Line array was always my strong preference back in the day and they began making a comeback in the Pro market 10 years ago when all the major Pro Audio companies returned to it.  My PA cab designs have always been line array and I’m stoked to offer vertically aligned cabs for bass players.  There is nothing that isn’t beneficial in the design, in my opinion.  On a shallow stage the drivers are up where you can hear them instead of blowing by your legs.  Off axis/horizontal frequency response is very good and they satisfy other criteria: ease of transport, lightweight, high power handling and efficient.”
